I'm a disabled WOC. I grew up in a cult and have been abused and assaulted multiple times since, my story is wild--but fast forward to now. My best friend (now partner) and I fell in together after being severely abused and left without resources by our respective ex-partners.

We tried to help each other, but we were both so isolated and traumatized that everything just kind of crumbled. My partner owned our house and everything kept breaking. The basement, the kitchen, then the disconnect notices started piling up.

I had already been struggling. My family has disowned me for speaking out about the cult. I don't have many friends left, because either my ex made me push them away,  or they left when my mental illness was no longer "quirky" to them. I have been stressed out for so long and misdiagnosed many times, and I just want some peace.

My dear sweet partner had a breakdown in May and lost his job. Then our roommate went on a bender, bailed on rent and I was left to try and hold it all together.  Now, not only is the house being  foreclosed, but all the utilities are being shut off this week. We have nothing left here, and scary people keep showing up, further traumatizing us... even our neighbor died the other day, and the one on the other side has a terrifying son has been circling our house, getting violent and sending threats. In short, I can't live like this. We're both afraid to sleep; we lock ourselves in the bathroom to feel safe. we barely eat... I've sold all my precious books and movies, and he's sold his games. We have nothing left of value.

My partner has family and friends in Michigan, and already has job interviews scheduled.  We even found a potential place to live. But we can't even apply for assistance until we can get to that state! So, PLEASE! I am literally begging. I know it is annoying, as you may not know or trust me.  But I'm so scared and so tired. I know no one owes me anything.  I just want to recover, and  heal and just... feel safe. So I'm asking. If you're able, please help us. 

What We Need

• A motel for the meantime. I grew up homeless... this displacement sucks. Sleeping in the car again re-triggers trauma and makes me panic. There's one motel in the city we're going to, which costs  $50 a night. Once we're there, after a few nights I believe we can get a voucher.  
• Food, we've lost so much weight and have gotten so sick from malnutrition.
