We are very late again with launching the monthly Fundrazr for May - and this time, for the first time in several years, we have had to carry forward a SHORTFALL in the previous month's fund raising - so please, PLEASE share this with your friends, and do everything you can to help us catch up, especially as we also have some substantial vet bills again this month, too.
Among several new arrivals are little black Bobby, who was found looking for a friendly human outside a school (he's already got an adoption offer!), young pup Felix who was found living on a chain (he's already erned himself the offer of a rescue place in Belgium), little black dog Dougie, and starving black and white lad Sammy who was originally feared to have been shot but is thankfully OK.
Older GSD Jonny had been hit by a car and suffered a broken leg, but was lingering in a workshop many miles from Sarajevo, without any vet treatment. Caki made the long drive to bring him to the vet, but tragically he succumbed to kidney failure following surgery on his leg.
Pregnant mum Martha, a Kopov hound, was found at the roadside: she has since given birth on 27 May to five healthy pups.
One of last month's arrivals was tripaw mum Adina, who had her leg torn off about a year ago by machinery at the brickworks where she lived, together with three of her young pups Elma, Dita, Mina. Sadly the pups contracted parvo, but Elma and Dita have survived and are recovering well: RIP Mina. A big "Thank You" to all those supporters who helped with the purchase of Canglob.
Sadly River, who was found with gunshot wounds
lying paralysed beside a stream, also passed away despite the best
efforts of the vets.
Meanwhile, the authorities won't allow any movement of dogs in or out of Praca, but Caki and other helpers continue to feed and clean out the dogs there on a regular basis.
Dogs that made it out of Bosnia include Ben (who
has joined Kip in foster in the UK), Byron who has
recovered from his shoulder injury and is now also in the UK, and
river pups Charlie and Ella who
have already been adopted together.
With so many puppies, as well as injured dogs, the vet bills have continued at a high level.

FUNDRAZR FEES: If you are using PayPal then Fundrazr will only work properly with a minimum €5 donation PLUS a minimum €1 "donation" or "tip" to Fundrazr. Smaller donations, and or donations with the Fundrazr "tip" set to zero, are automatically refunded via PayPal (but you can of course still make a direct payment to Caki's PayPal - see above).
TAX: The Bosnian authorities have retrospectively imposed a 10% tax on all PayPal and other electronic payments to private individuals received from overseas. As a result we have to add a further 10% to cover this cost. Caki is working with professional advisers to find how best to minimise this extra cost, and the potentially crippling retrospective liability: PLEASE MARK YOUR DONATIONS as "GIFT".
