The good news is that significantly more dogs left for new homes in the UK and Belgium than arrived into Caki's care, including Blackjack and Janey (to Mattie en Diane in Belgium), and Bowie,  Jake, Knight, Lucinda, Obie, Romeo, Serena, Sparkle, TeeJay, Woody, and Yvonne to various rescues in the UK.  We anticipate a further significant reduction in numbers in October.  We hope this will translate into a more manageable fundraising target for the coming winter months, as it has proved increasingly difficult to achieve our monthly target (October is almost over, and we have only just raised out September pension fees).

New arrivals include Bruce, Jack, Jess, Kojo, Vucko, and Zara.  Bruce is a friendly labrador-cross type dog, found by a shop and seemingly an abandoned pet... far too easy for the dogcatchers. Jack is a small black dog - probably only a year old - found near Caki's apartment.  Caki was called to rescue Zara, who was stuck in a school fence and had some really nasty, infected bite injuries on her back end. Kojo was found by a roadside, and has a badly broken leg which needed pinning and plating: he may also have a spinal injury.  Vucko was also rescued after someone contacted Caki.

FUNDRAZR FEES:  It seems that if you are using PayPal then Fundrazr will only work properly with a minimum €5 donation PLUS a minimum €1 "donation" or "tip" to Fundrazr.  Smaller donations, and or donations with the Fundrazr "tip" set to zero, are automatically refunded via PayPal.

TAX:  The Bosnian authorities have retrospectively imposed a 10% tax on all PayPal and other electronic payments to private individuals received from overseas.  As a result we have to add a further 10% to cover this cost.  Caki is working with professional advisers to find how best to minimise this extra cost, and the potentially crippling retrospective liability: PLEASE MARK YOUR DONATIONS as "GIFT".
