My disabled mom and I are currently in a very toxic rental situation at our current place in Spring Valley (SE MN, south of Rochester). Long story short, we'd gotten behind on rent and our landlord (alcoholic and likely drug addicted older man with no sense of personal space, etc)who lives on the property (triplex house) has been retaliating by intermittently harassing us (both directly and indirectly). It's been going on practically the entire time we've lived here (about a year)

We were just approved for Section 8 by the county. We found a place for rent in the same town with an excellent landlord, has passed sec 8 inspection, and it's a single family home. We signed the lease, we have the keys; the only problem is money. My mom gets about $750/month on disability, and I haven't been able to work the last few months due to severe depression/anxiety...

We need a minimum of $300 for deposit (talked down from $700). Other money is for gas/other moving expenses, as well as Fundrazr fees...

TL;DR, need to get into new place as quickly as possible but need financial help to do so.

So... If you read all that, thanks, you deserve a cookie Anything helps. Thank you.

P.S., we have exhausted all other options. Family lending $$ is right out, we've been in close contact with the county (they won't help unless they get proof of rent paid for the past year, which is impossible), and we've also been in touch with a housing attorney. We do plan to get the cops involved at some point re: current landlord, but we're waiting for the right opportunity.
