We consider the campaign a tremendous success. Members of the Kawartha Muslim Religious Association have thanked us very much for our efforts. We are now going to close the online campaign and continue our efforts offline. The funds will soon be transfered to the main fundraiser, and then he will work with the community to celebrate and transfer the funds directly to Dr. Kenzu Abdella, President of the Kawartha Muslim Religious Association. IMPORTANT, PLEASE READ: I have been in contact with the Kawartha Muslim Religious Association (KMRA) and they have thanked us all very much for our generosity. However, they intend to use only the funds required to help repair the mosque. All additional funds will be used for Charity purposes and announced in due time. They have asked me to stop further fundraising efforts, and I will respect their wishes.

Please remember that this fundraising campaign was an independent effort. We are a collection of people of all or no faiths who care about the Mosque and about our Muslim brothers and sisters.

On November 14th (2015), a suspicious fire was discovered inside of Peterborough's only Mosque. Damages are estimated to exceed $80K. We encourage members of the community, of all or no faiths, to help the muslim community restore their place of worship.

Update: This is now being classified as a "hate crime."

Update: We have now made over $57,780 for our Muslim brothers and sisters.

Update: Hello Everyone, 

We are overwhelmed by the amount of support that we have received in the last 22 hours and we are about to hit our goal, so we have decided to raise our goal to accommodate the estimated $80,000-$100,000 damages, so that those who want to contribute can still do so.

There are no words to describe how amazing our community has represented itself as a giving, loving, peaceful and supportive community.

Update: We keep receiving donations. We are going to keep allowing donations to come in - this is a real message of solidarity, and we do not want to keep people from expressing it.
