My name is Peggy Colonna and I own and operate a dog trainng business in Holmes, NY, with a small, probono, pitbull rescue end.

I was contacted by a colleague in Ga. who sent me Rocco's history and 3 horrible pics.. HE WAS NOTHING BUT SKIN AND BONES. iT WAS HARD TO IMAGINE HOW HE HAD SURVIVED HIS ORDEAL. I agreed to have Rocco transported up to me after which I took him immediately to the vets. He spent 3 weeks there bring stabilized andonce he was, I had him neutered and all his shots given, had him de-flead and treated successfully for severe demodectic mange. The above photo shows him 3 weeks after I rescued him. Imagine what he looks liked 3 weeks earlier. Check out his snapshot to see Rocco today!!!

Rocco is now well and a healthy 60 lbs. Since I could not place him until he was well, I have spent thousands of dollars I really do not have on medical care and boarding. I am now, 4 months later running out of funds but am still advertising Rocco and interviewing potential adopters. After what he has been through he deserves the perfect owner. Please consider helping me offset the cost of Rocco's boarding, which is $125 each week.

UPDATE - It is April 3td and Rocco is fully ready to go to a forever home. He has mastered a few basic obedience commands and has become very "gentlemanly", to use the term of Tom, the kennel manager. He is not only fully physicaly recovered but now that he is no longerxin survival mode, he has developed a happiness and serenity to his presence. He is much calmer, easier to direct and over all a VERY SPECIAL BOY!!!!

UPDATE - It is April 16th and when I saw Rocco yesterday I decided to cut back a bit on his food. Can you imagine that this once 34 lb. skeleton of a dog has now more that doubled his weight and is getting a little too chunky!!!! His coat, once riddled with an enormous amount of dandruff from severe demodectic mange, now has a coat like black .velvet. Please will someone opebtheir heart and home to either adopt or foster Rocco. He is so very ready to go to a home environment.

UPDATE 5/24/15 - Rocco is learning manners and looks absolutely magnificent. I am desperatly searching for the right foster or forever homeenvironment where he can continue ti develop into all he can be. He is incredibly smart and is always looking for something to do or figure out, like opening gates etc. I ADORE him. Please partner with me and give him a home environment to livein wjile his training continue.

UPDATE 6/11/15 - Rocco is hriving. he has calmed down alot nd learned many good behaviors/manners. He really needs a  loving foster or forever home. He is beautiful now and the picture of health. Please help me help him have the opportunity of learning how wonderful home life can be. Fosters will be compensated. Thank you.
