At the age of 9, Cary was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis, a progressive and debilitating lung disease. He is married to Kelly and they have twin girls, who brighten him up every day. The disease and his physical condition has exponentially worsened throughout his life. At the age of 35 his lungs were approaching the point where they could not properly sustain his life. In late 2013 Cary had to stop working and his family has been without his income ever since then. 

On November 16th, 2014, Cary received the ultimate gift, a double lung transplant. The future is now full of possibilities. Cary is working hard on the recovery and rehab process, which will last at least a year. Kelly has taken a partial leave from her job to help care for Cary. They have almost exhausted their savings and are now in a financial crunch until Cary is healthy enough to look for work. A group of friends and family has offered to help fundraise for Cary and his family.
