Earlier this year Jake and Megan became ambassadors for the Kids of Mustang, a group who is dedicated to help provide a home, education and a safe supportive environment for the children from Upper Mustang in Nepal. With the dream in the back of their minds to one day travel through New Zealand, having trekked through Arthurs Pass only a couple of years earlier, they thought what better way to experience the magic of the country than to trek the Te Araroa Trail – The Long Pathway, whilst raising funds for this special cause.
With the next chapter fast approaching, and a date now set to arrive in Aukland on the 9th October, to make their way to the far North to commence the Te Araroa, they are excited to be raising funds whilst on the trail. Walking 3000km over 5 months, self sufficient, carrying all our supplies in our packs, weighing an approximate 15-18kg, from the Northern most point at Cape Reinga to The Bluff in the far South.
Their goal is to raise $10 for each day trekking, with a conservative figure set at $1,500 to be donated directly to the Kids of Mustang.
Please support Jake and Megan by making a donation and to find out more about their exciting trek through the Te Araroa Rail head over to jakeslivin.com or you can find them on Facebook.com/jakeslivin.
