Marley's Mutts Dog Rescue saved these three dogs from a high kill shelter in Kern County where they had been for nearly two months. The dogs had been seized by the County due to criminal infractions by the dogs "owners". We are not privy to info on whether or not they were prosecuted, but we can be happy that they ended up with us and not in a barrel. Each of these three (1 girl and 2 boys) where severely neglected and very obviously used for repetitive breeding and kept in the most deplorable of conditions. The notes from their case-card read like a torture chamber. Each dog is missing all or near all of its teeth and most or all of their lower jaws. They are saturated with years of feces and urine poisoning and have serious tumors and cancerous growths that must be examined, evaluated and operated on. They are very happy dogs though, thoroughly enjoying this wonderful twist of fate that has come their way. Their foster parents adore them, as do their brothers and sisters, and we will ensure that the remainder of their lives are spent in glorious splendor, if not opulence (on a doggy level, no Tiffany bracelets or Ferrari's). We hope that their story will help inform folks about the evil of puppy mills and incentivize folks to reach out and speak out against these horrors. Who knows how many pups were created as a result of this operation but the though of it sickens me.

Any money raised during this campaign that doesn't need to be used for the 3 Musketeers will go to our large Spay and Neuter Program with Lucy Pet Foundation that provides low cost services for the most needy communities in Kern County.
