Marsha Dube' hasn't added a story.
Meet Joe Nathan Campbell Jr. fondly known as (JJ). To know him is to love him.
JJ was diagnosed in 2006 with AML Leukemia in the 1st grade, within that same time he suffered a stroke which left him unable to use his right arm. In 2007, he relapsed and in 2008 JJ recieved a bone marrow transplant. By all accounts he was doing great, returned to school, played football, basketball, hanging out with his friends, and enjoying his gift of life to the maximum. Unfortunately in 2012 he relapsed again. Each time the cancer returns it is more aggressive. JJ again had to endure Chemotherapy Treatments in 2012, 2013 and currently 2014. During that time JJ spent 41/2 months in ICU on life support . It is the most devastating experience to watch this young man for the past 8 years fight for his life. JJ continues to fight daily and is still undergoing chemotherapy treatments . JJ is currently a 9th grader at Lovejoy High School but is been unable to attend school. JJ has spent more years in the hospital than he has school.
Pamela is JJ’s mom and my personal hero; I watch with admiration at her ability to keep a smile on her face while being JJ's sole caregiver and making him her #1 priority. On a weekly basis JJ has up to 9 appointments which includes therapy (OT and PT) as well as chemo treatments and clinic visits to recieve platelets and blood. While leaving an appointment last week Pam’s car of almost 14 years stopped in the middle of the interstate while she was driving. As a result of Pam being JJ’s sole caregiver and a single mom she is unable to work outside of the home and therefore cannot finance a vehicle. Pam has been my very dear friend for over 14 years and is the type that prefers to help than to be helped. To see her struggle to find transportation ensuring that JJ gets his treatments breaks my heart. God has laid it on my heart to appeal to his people so we can help Pam continue to take care of JJ and drive him to his chemo treatments.
Today we are raising funds to bless Pamela with a reliable vehicle. I am asking from my heart to yours if you have the ability please don’t hesitate to generously give to this worthy cause.
