This past fall we recieved a letter that Jackson, our 8th grade son, had been nominated to apply for a once in a lifetime singing opportunity at Carnegie Hall. We were stunned, overwhelmed, and blessed beyond belief. In order to take part in this opportunity Jackson needs to raise approximately $1500.

Although, Jackson has only been singing, officially, since 7th grade, he has been interested in singing since he was a child. At the beginning of 7th grade, his teacher, Laura Landes, caught him in the hall and when she heard how deep his voice had gotten, she mentioned that he should join choir. He did just that and with Mrs. Landes encouragement tried out for and was accepted to his middle school's select choir. Jackson has no other professional singing experience.

As this opportunity presented itself to us, we prayed for guidance. Because of our deep faith in God, we felt as though it could have only been our mighty Lord who would arrange such an amazing thing. To this day, we still don't know who nominated him.

So Jackson took a chance and auditioned. Once again, Mrs. Landes helped him select the piece and make the audition recording. And just a few weeks ago we learned that Jackson was accepted as a Junior Finalist in the 2014 Honors Junior Choir!!!! Jackson is ONE OF 160 vocalists that were chosen among THOUSANDS of applicants. How amazing is that?

Provided that he raises the funds needed, Jackson will spend 5 days in NYC this summer singing under the direction of renowned conductors Dr. Jeffery Ames, Jeffrey Grogan,  and Kirt Mosier. In addition, Jackson wil experience New York by seeing a Broadway Show and participating in guided sightseeing.

We hope raise an additional 2,000 to allow his dad, myself and his sister to share in select activites during the week of his stay and attend the Carnegie Hall performance on June 28, 2014.
