Hi.  My name is Mia Lamar, I just turned 2 years old and I am at a place that is becoming a second home to me, CHOP (Children's Hospital of Philadelphia).  Mommy says I was born with boo-boos in my belly.  On Wednesday night (3/12/14), my mommy and big brother, Devon, rushed me to the hospital because I was very sick.  My big brother was so scared as they started to put tubes down my throat and gave me lots of shots.  The doctors took me to a surgery that lasted about 4 hours.  They removed most of my large intestines and all of my colon and gave me a poopy bag like I had when I was a baby.  Because those parts were bad, they gave my little body a really bad infection.  They shocked my body so I have been asleep for a few days. There is a scary tube down my throat and lots of wires in my body making sure I can eat and giving me medicine.  The machines scare my big brother, my mommy and my nana.  My blood pressure and temperature are not doing so well either.  Sometimes I try to wake up but then I stop breathing and the nurses put a bag on my face.  

When I wake up and get better and get to go home, my mommy will have to find me a special daycare.  But that’s after my mommy finds a job.  You probably do not know because my mommy never complains but the day after I had my surgery, my mommy's work burned down.  My mommy is a server at a restaurant and now it’s gone and my mommy does not have a job.

I wonder if you have a little bit to give, can you help me, my brother and my mommy with a donation so that my mommy does not have to worry so much?  I don't want my mommy to be sad.  I promise that I will fight to wake up and get better so I can go back to being my feisty, shake my booty, watch Frozen with my nana, have pops wrapped around my finger, annoying little sister, sparkle in my mommy's eye, little self.
