Penny (Playgirl) is a QH cross mare. She's being held for $400 on a lien that doesn't exist, not receiving vet care for her swollen, infected ankle, and starving.
Legally, I own this mare. I have all documents stating she is mine, and he has no paperwork whatsoever. The law has been involved, but nothing has been done for Penny. Animal control wouldn't even remove her from the premises.
We're taking the man holding her to court as soon as possible, but he is demanding $400 in order for her to leave the property, and we just do not and won't have that for a few more weeks, hence the dire need for donations. If she was in better condition, fundraising wouldn't be necessary and we wouldn't even consider paying this horse neglecter, but she needs off of that property and into good hands ASAP, and going through the court system might take longer than she has. Penny needs proper feeding and vet care for her leg, as well as the love she deserves.
