My name is Betty Bonifassi and i'm a singer, songwriter and composer living in Montreal, Canada.
I'm working on a new project which is a Tribute to African Prisoner songs from the 20's. It's a beautiful project based on amazing songs created by slaves in the early 1920's in South America. Chain songs, Gandy dancer songs, Field songs and Call songs were sang for hours to make them forget their pain and state of slavery. I want to pay tribute to those strong and beautiful people and I need you're help to be able to do it!
I have already worked and appeared on many projects. You can hear me sing on the soundtrack of Belleville Rendez-Vous, the animation movie nominated at the Academy Awards in 2003. I sang with Dj Champion and was the singer of the band Beast. Beast's song, Mr. Hurricane, was nominated at the Grammy Awards in 2010 for best video.
