Aiden Tijero has been selected by the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) to represent the United States at the 2013 "Jr Motocross World Championship" to be held in Czech Republic this August. We would like to share the dedication and determination that has brought him to this level in motocross. He does have a pretty remarkable story, even though he would say “ I am just like everyone else”. Aiden has been riding since he was two years old and started racing at age 7. He has been a top athlete is motocross, baseball, and soccer. At 8 yrs he told us that he did not want to play three sports anymore, as it was too much, he needed to focus. That year he did tryout for soccer, made the "Gold" team and only one week later was diagnosed with a rare condition called Leg Calve Perthes Disease. Aiden was forced to quit soccer soon after but he did continue to ride motocross, even with the pain. One of Aiden’s options was hip surgery, which seemed to be the best option. At this time he had already qualified for the biggest race in the country, Loretta Lynn’s Motocross National Championship and we promised him he could have the surgery after the event. Unfortunately, four days prior to leaving, Aiden broke his radius and ulna at practice and his hopes of going to Loretta’s went away. That August he had hip surgery and was off for several months. The following June he qualified for Loretta’s again but this time he was able to make the race in August. Then in October he had his second hip surgery for the plate to be removed that had been placed during his first surgery. After a few months of recovery, now 10 yrs old, Aiden was back inside the top 10 Nationally and for the 3rd year in a row he qualified for Loretta’s. He rode inside the top 3 most of the week and finished with a moto 3rd giving him a 12th overall. A few months later Aiden was asked to ride for KTM as their 65 rider for 2013. So far this year he won a National Championship at the GNC International Motocross Final at Oakhill and has several National top 3 finishes. Most recently he has been asked to be a part TEAM USA to represent the greatest country in the world at the amateur motocross premier world event. This truly is an opportunity of a lifetime for him and we are both very proud and very excited for him to join Team USA. With that said, we are trying to raise enough funds for this event so anything you can do would be greatly appreciated and if you could pass this on that would be fantastic!:)
