On April 2, 2013 from 6pm-9pm at the Incirlik Air Base bowling alley, we'll be supporting a local family (See story below). Since we have had requests from our families and friends who can't make the event to donate towards this family, we have opened up this fundraiser. Thank you for your contributions and we are looking forward to this event.

The Story:

Being in the military and away from family, there is always that dread of getting a phone call in the middle of the night. Whether it’s a new baby, an upcoming wedding, a graduation, a death in the family, or a sudden illness no one could have predicted, we all hate being away from home when they need us most.

It’s hard, but it’s nice to know we are never in it alone. We have strong communities, especially here at Incirlik, and friends who become family throughout the military. Here is a background of Wendy’s condition that the family at Incirlik shared with us:

Wendy Williamson is a daughter, a wife, a sister, an aunt, a friend, and a stay at home mommy to her sweet 23-month-old son, Carter. She is also a fighter. She is waging her second battle with Stage 4 Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma in the last 12 months. She was first diagnosed in February of 2012. After 10 rounds of radiation and 6 rounds of chemo ending in June 2012, she was in remission for 3 months; Unfortunately, she relapsed in October 2012.

Since October, Wendy and her husband, Sam have been traveling back and forth from Williamsville, IL to St. Louis, MO (approx. 125 miles) for twice monthly chemo treatments. On February 21, 2013, Wendy had a stem cell transplant in St. Louis and she will require an extended hospital stay. Through it all Wendy has remained positive, strong, and determined to win this battle!

100% of the proceeds from this fundraiser will be donated to the Wendy Williamson Benefit Fund to help Wendy and her family pay for medical and travel expenses. Together, we can help Wendy (and her family) win this battle. Lets show them that they are not in this alone!
