In 2008, Angela began experiencing exhaustion, bruising and hypothermic episodes. One night, while sleeping, a necklace she was wearing caused a small cut on her neck. She awoke in a pool of blood, and it took half an hour for her and her husband, Andrew, to stop the bleeding. She visited her doctor the next day, and began undergoing tests and blood work. Angela was shocked when her doctor diagnosed her with non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) cirrhosis of the liver. After studying her family history, she learned family members on her mother's side suffered from liver cancer and diabetes. Doctors have said a liver transplant is critical to her survival. A liver transplant costs approximately $500,000. And that's only the beginning. Even with health insurance, Angela faces significant medical expenses. For the rest of her life, she will need follow-up care and daily anti-rejection medications. The cost of post-transplant medications can range from $2,000 to $5,000 per month--and they are as critical to her survival as the transplant itself. You can help. If you would like to make a donation simply do so by clicking the give button. Every little bit helps. Blessings to all who wait and to all who love.
