Our beautiful baby Grayston is only 5 months and 22 days old. He has the sweetest little smile, the softest cheeks and an innocent spirit that melts everyone he meets. He doesn't know about the cruel complicated world around him yet, he only knows the warmth of his mother's arms and the sound of his father's voice.
On August 13 2026 our world was shattered in a single moment. During a routine visit for immunizations, Grayston suffered a prolonged and terrifying 6minute long seizure. In an instant our happy, healthy world was changed to cold hospital rooms, beeping monitors and devastating news. Diagnostic scans revealed that our son had intracranial cysts, structural brain abnormalities and fluid build upon his brain.
Because of these abnormalities, Grayston is suffering from a rare aggressive form of seizure called Infantile Spasms. Everyday that these silent painful spasms shake his body, his brain is placed at risk. Doctors said if we don't stop these spasms immediately it could steal his bright future causing permanent developmental regressions and permanent brain damage.
A mother's fight in the dark.....
As a kindergarten teacher I spend my days nurturing other people's children. We are used to working hard for what we have and want and solving our own problems. But nothing in the world prepares you for watching your innocent child choke while his O2 levels drop to 83% whileard staff watch with indifference.
Grayston is a little warrior but he's still just a tiny baby that needs his community to wrap their arms around him. We are asking from the absolute depths of our soul to help save our sons mind, his future and his life.
Your generous donation will go towards : the immediate upfront cost of his brain MRI. His anesthesia fees to safely sedate him for the procedure. Life saving advanced neurological medication that will suppress and eliminate the spasms. Emergency consultations with pediatric neurologists to see if my boy needs surgery.
