L’histoire
aucun revenu.

tempête. 💜
The story
Alex is a rock star. A sexy burlesque bunny, a sailor of the
seas, an ally, a fighter, a cool aunty — and one of the fiercest,
funniest humans you’ll ever meet. She’s the one who says yes
to adventure, who questions everything, and who clears a path for
others (even for those of us without her legendary sailor thighs).
But this year, a new kind of storm rolled in: breast cancer. The kind no one signs up for — but Alex, being Alex, has faced it with grit, humor, and that unstoppable sparkle of hers.
Alex found her lump herself and she would absolutely insist that you do your self-exams — Trust your instincts: the earlier the detection, the better the outcome. In Canada, an estimated ≈ 30,500 women were expected to receive a breast cancer diagnosis in 2024 (roughly 84 diagnoses per day).
Since her diagnosis last winter, she’s been through three surgeries and six rounds of chemo. She’s now preparing radiation and is continuing the long-term hormonal and antibody treatments, and will be planning another (we hope final) major surgery — a marathon of healing that will stretch well into next year. She also learned that she is a carrier of the BRCA-2 mutation, making her much more susceptible to different cancers. Through it all, she’s kept her head high (and occasionally bald), her heart open, and her middle finger ready for anything cancer throws her way.
For five years now she has been out in beautiful British Columbia — testing out the West Coast baddies — but let’s be honest, the East Coast isn’t giving her up that easily. So let’s make this a friendly competition of love: who’s going to show up stronger, louder, and with more heart or MONEY?
Why we’re raising funds
Alex has been navigating an intense, lengthy treatment plan and
needs space to focus on healing. Funds will help cover medical-related
expenses not fully covered (like scar tissue massage and
physiotherapy), travel and lodging for treatments and surgeries,
recovery support, and basic living costs so she can rest and get well
without added financial stress. Because unfortunately, she has no
salary, unemployment benefits, or insurance — in other words, no income
