My name is Monica, I was born and raised in Rio Grande do Sul, in the southern most state in Brazil. 

I no longer live there since 2006 but all my relatives do.

Since April 29th, my birth state has been suffering with overpowering floods and mudslides caused by torrential rains which are continuously sweeping southern Brazil.

Oficial government numbers say that at least 70 people have lost their lives, more than 100 are missing and tens of thousands were forced out of their homes... thousands of people have sadly lost everything. Around 70% of the state is suffering with this situation. Airports and ground transportation services were shut down since they are underwater and important roads were severely damaged.

Those who are homeless now are families who lost everything and can't go back to their homes... They are in need of everything: mattresses and pillows, all type of bedding, toiletries, cleaning products, all types of clothing for all ages, furniture, appliances, pet food, and general daily living itens!
