A huge relief to be writing this earlier in the month - a big "Thank You" to all Caki's fund raisers and supporters!
New arrivals include Soldier, an older boy possibly having been hit by a car and generally in very poor condition, Cleo and Paris who were picked up after their sibling was hit by a car, puppy Kaleb was found suffering from a bad case of demodex and fungal skin infections, and young pup Rosie was found, crawling with fleas, by a bus stop. While Caki was feeding some dogs, a kitten made herself comfortable in his car(!) - now named Bella. Logan is very like Caki's Kengurko and was found in much the same place, on the way back from Praca, while young pup Cissie was found injured with a broken jaw, possibly the result of someone hitting or kicking her. Ollie was reported to Caki after he had been hit by a car, and then fallen (or been thrown) into a manhole: it was only after he had lain there, crying, for several days, that Caki heard about him. There are also three new GSDs, Annabell, Jack and Jill - all abandonned by their owners!
Little puppy Mac, who was hit and injured by a car, has recovered from parvo but despite travelling to Zagreb vets have been unable to operate to fix his broken leg. We hope he may still keep his leg and regain some use through suitable physiotherapy. Martha, who lost all her puppies, also needed vet surgery for a tumour (cost added to last month's Fundrazr), but is hopefully OK now. Cissie has been to the vets in Zagreb for two operations on her broken upper and lower jaw, while Ollie, who has been diagnosed with a shattered pelvis and is currently unable ot walk, has been taken to a specialist vet in Belgrade.
Nine departures this month, too: Bluebell and Felix have gone to Belgium, and Bobby (Sox) has also gone to Switzerland. Baker Street pups Gibson and George, together with Gordon who was abandoned by his rescuer years ago, have gone to Karen in the UK, Sammy is in a UK forster and will hopefully be permanently rehomed soon, and two GSDs Faljeg /Angel and Armana are also with a specialist rescue for rehoming in he UK. We wish them luck and happiness in their new homes.
Ollie's, Mac's and Kaleb's ongoing treatment means we have made provision for significant vet bills again this month, too.

FUNDRAZR FEES: If you are using PayPal then Fundrazr will only work properly with a minimum €5 donation PLUS a minimum €1 "donation" or "tip" to Fundrazr. Smaller donations, and or donations with the Fundrazr "tip" set to zero, are automatically refunded via PayPal (but you can of course still make a direct payment to Caki's PayPal - see above).
TAX: The Bosnian authorities have retrospectively imposed a 10% tax on all PayPal and other electronic payments to private individuals received from overseas. As a result we have to add a further 10% to cover this cost. Caki is working with professional advisers to find how best to minimise this extra cost, and the potentially crippling retrospective liability: PLEASE MARK YOUR DONATIONS as "GIFT".
