Hey friends,
I don't like asking for money for myself, but for years, I have
wanted to attend the Native American Journalist Association
Conference. It's not cheap, and I have to be careful with money,
because I am at a steady risk of being wiped out by unexpected
medical expenses. Some of you have been along for the ride in the
years since I have gotten into journalism. I delved into this work
to serve the interests of marginalized communities and in the
pursuit of justice. There isn't a lot of money in that, but I love
my life. Last year, I promised myself that if I were well enough
this year, I would attend this conference. As you all know, I face
added expenses when traveling due to my disability. I can cover some
of the costs of this trip, but realistically, I need help to make
this work. So if you are able to and want to, I would appreciate
