Hello, my name is Kamisha. I’m a Registered Behavioral Technician as well as Dedicated Aide to children and young adults with Autism, ADHD, Intellectual Disability’s, and Developmental Delays. I’ve work in this field for 14 years. I believe that all inviduals should have the opportunity to be valued members in the community. Unfortunately, those that are deemed different, often gets overlooked and not many recreational places are adapted towards them, so they rarely get to do things that others their age are doing. I’ve been interacting with parents and asked them what they’d like. Their answer: “I want my child to enjoy the outside world without judgement, I just want a small break so I can go grocery shopping, and prepare a meal.” As a result, I’ve partnered with several members from my job, and began taking those that signed up, into the community. We’ve traveled to the movies, swimming, bowling, and go kart riding, just to name a few. My mission is to provide an environment that’ll adapt to the needs of specific individuals listed above, which will deliver the highest standard of support, advocacy, and services, through recreation and community based programs. This is where I’ll need your help. These outings are costly, and most parents cannot afford but want to continue the services. We pay for these individuals with funds raised from fundraisers that we do. I’m asking if you could please donate towards this campaign in order to continue operating. No amount is too small.
