I am excited to announce that I have been accepted as 1 of 14 people from around the world who will be studying under one of my musical and engineering heroes, Steve Albini, this February at Studio La Fabrique in the south of France, near Avignon. 

The workshop, Mix With The Masters, pairs engineers like me from all over the world with some of today's top engineers and producers.

There will be a series of discussions about production techniques, mental approach towards mixing, career advice, workshops, lots of tracking and mixing with real clients of Steve's. There will also be one on one time where Steve and I re-mix some of my work together.

For those unfamiliar with Steve, he has worked with artists like The Pixies , The Stooges , Nirvana, Jimmy Page & Robert Plant, plus countless other small independent artists from around the world.

I have spent over 10 years working as an audio engineer (nearly 5 years full time now) working exclusively with independent artists from the Vancouver and surrounding areas. I recently built my first studio - with a lot of research and little experience - taking 1000 sq ft of raw space and turning it into a flexible recording space.

I struggled with the idea of fundraising at first. My thought process was "Why should anyone help me pay for my education? Just work harder and pay it yourself". After talking with some friends I realized that if any one of them had an opportunity such as this I would say "YES, of course I'll help you."

Your donations will help me continue my education with someone whom I regard as one the best Audio Engineers today. I cannot wait to start applying the new knowledge I will learn to future projects in the studio.

My goal if reached will cover the costs for lectures, workshops, accommodations, meals, and travel expenses from Avignon to the studio.

Everyone who donates will receive a compilation album from artists that I have worked with as a Thank You. It features some songs that have yet to be released, others that are unreleased studio outtakes, and some are from albums that have already been released.
