Jack Miller hasn't added a story.
There is a lot of discussion going on about Adrafinil and its use across the world.
Adrafinil, for those who aren’t aware, is a relatively mild stimulant that helps to keep you awake and alert for a long stretch of time. It makes you mentally active and alert, keeping you awake at times when human beings would, naturally, feel drowsy or sleepy. So in effect it can keep you alert through night shifts, early morning or late evening shifts. Read more about how stimulants like this work at this website.
In the 70’s, French scientists discovered the drug. However, it was not until the late 80’s that the drug started being used as a stimulant.
Adrafinil was initially used to treat sleep disorders, but with the lifestyle changes we have experienced in the last couple of decades, it has now been widely embraced by many who work long hours or have jobs that need them to be alert at all times.
While usage of the drug reports some side effects like skin, higher anxiety levels, and stomach cramps or abdominal pain, these are relatively limited and do not affect everyone.
The drug has had wide success in tests and while it doesn't work for everyone in the same way, a majority of users have reported a felling of alertness through normal sleep hours.
It is used extensively, by people who need to be alert and awake at odd hours. So over the last decade, Air Traffic Controllers, Air Pilots and people working ‘high pressure’ jobs have reported success after they buy Adrafinil (Available at DW Supplements for a good price).
But I read somewhere that it was banned by the WADA?
Yes, the drug is on the prohibited list of the WADA. Many people use this to justify the fact that it should not be consumed, ‘W.A.D.A., the World Anti Doping Agency has banned it’.
In effect, that is what leads to the confusion in most people’s minds. If it is banned by the Doping Agency, then it must be a banned substance.
It can't be good for consumption. It must be bad for health. It must be causing damage to the system.
Quite far from it, actually.
The WADA has banned all stimulants from being consumed before competitions. This includes Coffee and other commonly used stimulants.
The ban is not on the drug, but on the use of it in competition.
The rules that WADA develops are more from the perspective that no competitor should gain an unfair advantage over the others, by using any substance that improves their performance or abilities.
While most people would classify any drug on the list as a ‘Steroid’, which can actually cause harm to the body, the list released by the WADA is extensive and contains a long list of drugs, including many that are available over the counter.
Many are drugs that we take every day, as part of our lives, for years, without any side effects or damage, click here for some facts.
The fact is that the drug is 100% legal, and is not on the restricted drugs list in the United States, United Kingdom, and Canada.
Some countries require you to have a prescription for it, but nowhere in the world is Adrafinil banned.
So while it is always advisable for one to check with a doctor before starting on any medication, Adrafinil, as a drug, is safe for use, available OTC and through online purchases.
