My friend Petal is a vulnerable disabled lady who is pretty much housebound due to health issues including fibromyalgia, spondylosis, heart failure and partial vision.  She rarely leaves the house but when she does she always goes with someone else.

Petal's power chair was stolen a while back by some local teens, and as she is a pensioner in council housing she had no insurance to cover the loss.  Since the theft a safe store lock up box was installed for her, but she has no power chair to put it in!

She managed to save up a couple of hundred pounds for a small second hand mobility scooter, but it does not offer her adequate support and she feels very vulnerable on it.  It also doesn't support her weight adequately, so she can't actually use it.

When she does go out she has to be pushed in a regular chair, but Petal absolutely hates to be a burden to anyone so more often than not she will change her mind and stay in instead.

A new power chair would give her back a level of independence that she is so desperately missing right now.

I have set the fundraising goal to be enough for a second hand chair, but am expecting not to raise that much.  Any and every penny raised however will go towards a preloved power chair so that Petal can have a better quality of life.
