Vaida Jefferson hasn't added a story.
Vaida Jefferson graced this world with her presence on August 21st 1968. She was one of 3 children. Growing up in a family that was making choices Vaida did not want to be a part of, she drew on her inner strength. As a young child she made the decision to "be the change" and create a better life for herself. She was athletic and sports gave her the opportunity to learn about hard work, commitment, sacrifice and discipline. Vaida became a powerhouse on her High School basketball team and was slowly evolving into the confident, young woman she had hoped to become. Her studies were important to her and it paid off when she was accepted to Berkeley College in Manhattan. While she was a student she accepted a part-time position offered to her by Jones Apparel Group and delicately balanced her studies with that position during the week and worked at Waldbaums on the weekends. Vaida was extremely proud of herself. She had achieved everything she set out to do, but wasn't quite done.
In January 19, 1996 Vaida gave birth to Quai, the center of her world. She taught him everything she knew about life. Quai was gifted with his mothers smile and it was that gift that Abrams Artists Agency in NYC had to have. Modeling and acting quickly became a part of Quai's life and Vaida made sure he was on time to every audition and call. School was always always a priority and she never let Quai forget how important an education is. As Quai grew it became apparent that the second gift his mother gave him was his athletic ability. Quai played both AAU Football and Basketball. Vaida drove him to practice 3 times a week and weekends were spent travelling with him to games where she was the loudest cheerleader!
It was just shy of this time that she was diagnosed with MS. Her symptoms slowly started to show. It seemed as if in no time however, that she could no longer walk. Quai took care of her every need. Quai attended St. Joseph Regional HS in Montvale NJ and is currently on a Full Football Scholarship at Delaware University. He was and continues to be a student athlete and caretaker. Homework, studying, football and basketball practice, cooking, cleaning and laundry became Quai's life. He is Vaida's rock. The best advice she feels she ever gave him was that " the knowledge I shared along with life lessons, is something no one can ever take from you and everything you do, good or bad has consequences and you have to think about those consequences."
Vaida considers MS "a gift that she received from God to help empower others."
