Mercedes Schmekel hasn't added a story.
Mercedes was born and raised in Spain. At the age of 24 years old, she lfet home to move to America to reach her American dream. She came without knowing the language and 300 dollars on her pocket, she managed to work cleaning homes for a exchange of a warm bed and food while she learned the language to get a job. Mercedes got to work and lived in many homes and families who she felt safe, later in life she got married and14 years later her husband divorced her leaving her with nothing but her clothes. Mercedes again had to endure another lesson, this time to provide for her self, when she never worked during her marriage years,so she did not had a curriculum or any job history, and now in her mid 40's she find her self having to start over again, and this time with shame and guilt, and not longer the confident young girl who had the passion and energy to reach her dreams. Today Mercedes has survived for the last 8 years, getting a job working for 30h a week at $12.00h for a flooring company while she saved money to buy a DSLR camera and few lenses so she could develop her passion as photographer and make money doing something she has always enjoyed. Unfortunately for her and despite her eager to make a good life it has been a constant struggle and due to her lack of English grammar and understanding that she knows she will never reach her American dream as she ones thought. Mercedes is disappointed at her self, with feelings of despair to be close to family as her parent have reach 80 year of age and she knows that could take any moment any time to receive the bad news, and need to be back home. Here Mercedes is feeling strangled in a country while her heart wasn't to be back home and due to her circumstances she cant move back unless she has financial independence to prove she can live on her own in her own country and be solvent for her self, and to have a permanent residency to live. Mercedes does not own anything other than her old 14 year car, few furniture's items and clothes, living day by day with no savings, or insurance. Please help her to return full circle to get reunited with her siblings and parents, and to be able to get the funds to have a lawyer to help her with her residency, a home to live and some savings to help her to get a car and food while she seeks government help and family asylum and a job to survive. May the grace of giving be a blessing to you for your sincere heart in gratitude from Mercedes to your family.
