Hello All!

Let me just start by saying, thank you for taking the time to read this!  The fact that you are reading this means so much to me, so thank you!

Now, I have created this page to raise support for a short-term mission trip that I am going on in early January. My team and I will be going to Cambodia to work with AIM (Agape International Missions), an organization that I will elaborate on in a little bit. First, please allow me to present you with a little background on how I have come to this point in my life, writing this letter.

When I decided to study abroad in South Korea I had no idea what was ahead of me.  I came to Korea expecting to experience a different culture and hoping to make new friends.  And I was never really educated about human trafficking, but I had always longed to learn more about the subject.  Even before I came to Korea whenever I would hear about organizations that fight against human trafficking, I would always wish that I could do something.  But, as a typically poor college student I felt so powerless.  But, God has opened my eyes and proven me wrong!

It's amazing how you can look back through your life or a season in your life and see God's power and work throughout.  This semester in Korea, and even some time before-hand, has been one of those seasons!  This time has turned out to be so much more about spiritual growth than about academic or social expansion.  When God led me to Onnuri Church I was automatically drawn in by Pastor Eddie's passion for justice, and being a part of Onnuri English Ministry for these past few months has changed me in so many ways!  Four months ago I NEVER would have imagined that I would be where I am now.  And while I am still a mere college student, I no longer feel powerless and I can finally take part in a fight that I have been given the courage to join.

Human trafficking is a global issue.  Currently, there are more slaves in the world than any other time in the history of man. Trafficking is the fastest growing illegal industry in the world, generating about $32 billion per year, and around 30 million women, children and even men, are bought and sold out for sexual purposes or hard labor. While trafficking is supposed to be illegal in most countries, in countries like Cambodia the people turn their heads while it continues to thrive, with no efforts to stop it. In fact, Asia is one of the largest regions of sex tourism, meaning that the majority of slaves who are trafficked are trafficked into this region.  And, the trafficking of children into Asia fills the overall number of trafficked victims across the world.  There are areas within Cambodia that are known to cater specifically to pedophiles who can go and purchase girls, out in the open; girls as young as six years old!  The horror that these victims endure is unimaginable to us.  And frankly, to try to imagine it is even more terrifying.  But, imagine how the victims who live through this every day feel.  They lose all sense of self-worth and any will to live life.

My group and I will be travelling to Cambodia, where during the course of one week we will aid and assist AIM.  AIM is an organization that works to combat human trafficking in Cambodia. They achieve this by not only rescuing victims, but rescuing traffickers as well.  They offer refuge, restoration, and transformation for those who have suffered.  This is the cause and organization that God has called me to serve.  The estimated cost for this trip is $2,000.  This money will cover airfare, a place to stay, food, supplies for the ministry that my group will be doing in Cambodia (like arts and crafts, practical ministry, etc.), and support for the missionaries who are already in Cambodia.

This campaign will be open for about 3 weeks, and I would really appreciate it if you would partner with me and my team.  Any amount that you give is greatly appreciated and will go a long way.  But, even more than money, what I am seeking through this campaign are your prayers.  Please pray for the protection of me and my team as we go and serve; and please pray for the nation of Cambodia that is suffering from a violent past and current bondage.

Thank you!
