I am a person who has sought my way back from a chronic health condition, and now seek support to get " back in the game" by refreshing, upgrading, and re-certification of my skills and talent in Trager: a gentle touch, yet deeply soothing modality of massage. www.tragerus.org/index
There are no student loans outside of the academic box; therefore, I now seek sources of funding to cover the costs of completing my practicum (as an advanced student), the cost of tutorials, Trager Institute dues & a few business start up costs after all that is accomplished - June 2014.
Having been struck by a auto-immune disorder in 2005, my life and career was put on hold while fighting my way back from the grips of chronic illness. Western Medicine could offer me no cure, and unfortunately my limited budget prevented alternative medicines as well. It was a very long 8 years, and now my health has stabolized after much trial and error by my own research and self healing. I have learnt a great deal about how to give the body what it needs to heal on many levels, mental, emotional and very improtantly physical ie: the importance of ph balance of the blood.
About Trager Psycho-physical Integration
Trager is a Somatic (body-mind integration) approach to massage. A sensitive & loving message is conveyed thru the hands by the practitioner's deeply developed personal meditation. Trager, when done with full dedication is designed to invite your body to open to its natural relaxed state, and free itself of subconscious holding patterns. This can happen in one session, but usually requires more than that. I am dedicated to the philosophy of Trager and do my best to bring this into my hands as I work.
There is a reverence for the body, for the brilliant spirit which lives within, and for the love of the heart. This is what my study of Milton Trager, the man himself, taught me. My own life with all its strife and heartache, tragic losses and deepening awareness, has brought me home to this beautiful work. I am so grateful to have fallen into this work, and been taught how to grace others with its healing power.
Trager Psycho-physical Integration, developed by Dr. Milton Trager, is a massage modality which mobilizes muscles, bones, ligaments & joints to create expansion and ease in the body. The work is gentle yet moves deeply through the layers of muscle.
Using rhythms, the practitioner senses where rigidity creates resistance, and with gentle systematic patterns of touch, encourages, invites & coaxes the muscles to release.
The work serves, as a message to the body to just let go of the tension which is held firstly in the subconscious, and secondly in the body. This can be an emotional unfoldment as well as the freeing up of the muscle tensions and imbalances leading to chronic pain.
My goal is to support clients into a new experience in their body that is sustained through the release of this unfoldment.
As a returning practitioner I am undergoing an internship to refresh my hands and re-certify with the Trager Institute.
Currently offering practice sessions on friends who have lived with disabilities and can not afford alternative health care. It is such a joy to bring this to them, and see how much it helps. The feedback is what has encouraged me to keep going.
Milton Trager in his life's work! FYI: his biography is a fantastic inspiring story.
If I could raise $5000.00 in crowd-funds, that would get my studies completed (oh, a student of Reflexology at this time too, for its direct medicinal effects), get my equipment needs and marketing tools to launch a full practice in June 2014.
I plan to work in both Integrated Medical Clinics and our local community facilities for those who need cost efficient strategies to Alternative Health Care.
Thank you for the time you took to read my request here, may all
people be filled with peace and equanimity.

Refresher Practicum and case studies
Oct 2013 to present
Practicing on friends to prepare my
work to present to a Senior Tutor for a series of tutorials.
Completion of practicum will renew my certification.
Professional Reflexology Training
October 2013 to June 2014
Academic studies: Anatomy & Physiology, Empirical History of Reflexology & procedural studies as applied to presenting health condition. Final Exam in January. Then technique training and a case study of 75 practice clients.
Previous Trager Training - 1 1/2 yrs in
practicum 1995 - 97. As a mother of a young child I did my practicum
slowly and methodically over a few years. Attended 5 day trainings,
had many tutorials inbetween, and practised on two clients a week. In
1996 my Senior tutor pushed me to do the final "hands on
exam" saying my work was exceptionally good, and it would be a
loss to the Trager Institute if I did not pursue the career. Because
I had carried self-esteem issues of a person with learning
disabilities, I have to thank my Tutor, Micheal Madrone, for this
encouragement, or I do not think I would of proceeded to become
competent in this work.
