Matthew Tembo was a lively, loving and active brother of Pi Kappa Alpha. Even though his time at Carnegie Mellon was short, he was widely connected across campus through his proactive commitment in making friendships, entertaining others, and playing soccer. He passed away in early 2010 due to an unfortunate incident of alcohol poisoning. We host this tournament to carry on his zealousness and honor his life.

The Gateway Rehabilitation Center for Drug and Alcohol Abuse helps people like Matt every single day.  We donate money to their cause every year in the hope that we can help save even just one person's life from ending with the same tragic fate as Matt.
