Sweet 10 year old Sadie was taken to a Shelter in Sarasota, FL when her owner was incarcerated :( She couldn't afford to get her and several other animals out so poor Sadie was then an owner surrender there and at risk of euthanasia!

A caring local family saw Sadie's post on Facebook and she grabbed their heart! They adopted her and she is now a part of their family! Sadie and her 2 dog siblings are living the life that we all wish every shelter dog could have the chance at and she has this home to live out her remaining years being loved on.

UNFORTUNATELY, she had some growths on her that they have had their vet check out and from a fluid draw taken from one of her back legs, the vet looked under the microscope and said he couldn't tell definitively but that he didn't like the characteristics of the cells he saw :( The growths need removed asap so bloodwork was taken and they've gotten word that she is good to go for surgery.

Sadie is starting to show her personality and is blossoming with them daily! THIS FAMILY LOVES HAVING SADIE WITH THEM and while they LOVE HER TO PIECES, they hadn't expected this large expense and need help making this happen for her...PLEASE CONSIDER EVEN A FEW DOLLARS TOWARDS HER CARE!

DONATIONS can be directly CALLED IN TO THE VET if you chose not to donate online:

Sandy Paws Veterinary Clinic
16701 Gulf Blvd N., Redington Beach, FL 33708
Ph #(727) 826-0918

(They prefer checks but will take a credit card payment over the phone and apply it to Sadie's surgery.)

Per Sadie's Mommy:

The vet had done a fine needle aspiration and looked at the specimen under the microscope. They found spindle shaped cell tumors which can be cancerous (sarcoma… connective tissue cancer). The vet explained that there is chance that the growth is not cancerous and is fine for the moment but would most likely continue to grow and cause discomfort and possibly become malignant. The hope is to remove the growth and if it is cancerous that we have removed it completely and stopped it from spreading. If it has spread, we will not be able to do much for her except keep her comfortable. We will know if it is cancer or not once we remove it and send it out for a biopsy.

The estimate given to me yesterday was $548.38 on the low end and $638.38 on the high end.

...PLEASE CONSIDER A DONATION TO THIS OLE GAL AND GIVE HER THE GIFT OF LIFE ONCE AGAIN! xoxo

Here is a Facebook note where this family learned of Sadie ... (the shelter still has 3 of her former roommates so if you can help one of them, they really need you!!! <3)
