Biography
Julie Stokes is a mother, CPA, small business owner, and community leader.
Julie has been a leader in District 79 in everything from her children’s school and her church to the Executive Committee of the Jefferson Chamber and Mayor Yenni’s Economic Development Committee in Kenner.
She has been President of various groups such as the Chateau Estates Civic Organization, the Accounting and Financial Women’s Alliance, and the Jefferson Young Leaders (a precursor to the JCEL of the Jefferson Chamber).
She has also graduated from numerous leadership programs including Leadership Jefferson. Julie is also a Commissioner of the Regional Transit Authority because she believes that reaching across parish lines and working for the good of our whole community is important.
Julie is the kind of hard-working, collaborative, and decisive leader that we need representing Jefferson Parish.
Julie Stokes is the CFO and Owner of Stokes & Associates, Inc. She resides in Kenner with her husband Larry and their two children, Brandon and Taylor. She has lived in or near District 79 for her entire life, being educated in the Jefferson Parish Public School System, and attending the University of New Orleans on full scholarship where she received her Bachelor’s of Science in Accounting, Magna Cum Laude.
She passed the Certified Public Accounting examination on her first attempt and worked at two of the best accounting firms in Louisiana. She is still actively involved at UNO and with the Louisiana Society of CPA’s because she knows the importance of giving back to the communities that have given so much to her. Julie is the smart, professional, diligent type of leader that our District needs.
