My birthday is coming soon and every year I ask for the same thing, not because it’s easy to ask, but because the need never ends.

For years, this has been my life. Not a hobby. Not a side project. My days start and end with animals who rely on me. Feeding, cleaning, medicating, trapping, neutering, releasing. I now care for a colony of 70 cats, and even when I’m stretched beyond my limits, I still can’t turn away those who appear needing help. Just in the last couple of weeks, 5 new cats have come into my care.

I also maintain multiple feeding stations in different locations which support cats who would otherwise go hungry, and keeping them supplied is an ongoing responsibility.

In the last year, I have rescued 20 abandoned dogs that are now happily rehomed.

This isn’t a phase. It’s constant, relentless work that’s physically exhausting, emotionally draining, and often invisible. It’s not something everyone can do, but it’s something I’ve committed my life to because these animals depend on it.

As much as this work is part of who I am, I can’t sustain it alone.
I do this because I love them but love alone isn’t enough. The food, vet visits, neutering, emergency care adds up faster than I can keep up with.
