My name is Oliver. I rescued Katrina in mid-November. She is a gentle and affectionate mare who arrived underweight and in urgent need of care. With constant work and dedication, she has already improved a lot, but she still hasn’t reached her ideal weight and needs ongoing support to stay healthy.

Katrina is a retired mare. She is 9 years old and now lives
as a beloved companion, but her proper care involves considerable
expenses: quality feed, hay, supplements, veterinary checkups,
hoof care, medication when needed, and regular visits from her
trainer to help with her rehabilitation.
My goal is to give Katrina a dignified, peaceful, and happy life: to ensure she is well fed, healthy, and able to enjoy her days with comfort and love after a difficult past. Every contribution goes directly toward her food, medical care, and overall well-being.
Thank you for helping Katrina live the life she deserves.
Monthly Cost Summary (for donors)
The full care of Katrina costs approximately $650–$700 per month.
This includes:
- Hay: $200–$250 per month (she eats around 25 bales; each one costs $8–$10)
- Feed: Approximately $40 per month
- Supplements: $15–$20 per month
- Veterinary care: $200–$300 every three months (about $80 per month on average)
- Farrier: $60 every three months (about $20 per month on average)
- Training: Approximately $60 per week (about $240 per month)
- Stable maintenance: Sand, bedding, small repairs, and seasonal protection (approximately $25–$30 per month)
Estimated Total Monthly Need:
➡️ $650–$700 per month
Brief Explanation for Donors
This estimate is conservative and covers only Katrina’s direct care: hay, feed, supplements, veterinary visits, farrier work, training, and basic stable maintenance.
It does not include any compensation for my time, nor the additional costs of labor and transportation. Delivering hay and sand requires paid transport services; moving materials to her stable involves additional hired labor; and items such as bedding (sawdust or wood shavings) also involve labor and transportation costs.
These are real expenses, but I am not including them in full, so donors can see that I am requesting only what is strictly necessary for Katrina’s well-being.
We love Katrina—and love has no price.
