REQUEST FOR FUNDING TO COMPLETE REPAIRS ON DAMAGED CAR
Introduction
I am Mr. Michael Ochieng, a 33-year-old Kenyan citizen who recently delved into the transport business. This is a proposal to enable me to raise USD 2,000 from well-wishers like you to enable me to complete repairs to a car that was involved in an accident. Please tag along.
The genesis of the problem
Back in July 2019, using the savings I had and a bank loan I bought a Toyota Voxy Registration Number KCL 911H valued at USD 9,100 to be used in the business. I leased the same car to a Tours and Travel Company for a 2-year period effective 18th July 2019. The vehicle was to be used and in return, I was to receive a payment of USD 450 after every 35 days as indicated in the contract.
The payments from the company became irregular and delayed causing me troubles in servicing my loan. The last payment received for the use of the car was for the month of November 2019. The car was later involved in an accident in May 2020 shuttering my dreams of becoming financially dependent.
The vehicle was towed to Gigiri Police station yard and stayed there for a month. It was later towed to a garage where it stayed for another one and a half months awaiting clearance from the insurance company before repairs could commence.
Four months down the line, the vehicle still lies at the garage. The insurance company only managed to cover the costs of the repair of the front part of the vehicle which was done this month. This leaves the rest of the body of the vehicle in its old state.
I managed to repair the car three months later having taken a loan from the bank but after 2 months the car was involved in another accident.
Way Forward
I pulled out of the lease agreement, have the car fully repaired and hit the ground running again on my own.
It is in this regard that I request your financial support to enable me to actualize my dreams. I endeavor to use the money to finish the repairs, purchase spare parts and paint the car.
From the lessons learned, it is my desire that I open and run my own transport company and provide the much-needed transport solutions to the general public creating jobs in the process and boosting our economy.
