My name is Anastacia, and I'm a transgender woman.

I used to be a medical doctor, but gender transition forced me to leave my former workplace. I've been unable to find clinical work since then, largely because of delays in the processing of my legal name change and ID documents - the process now has taken 10 months and counting.

I believe strongly in representation, education, and cultivating awareness of trans issues, in order to combat discrimination and prejudice.

I spend a lot of time maintaining a regular blog on my website, a resource that many transgender people, and cis allies, find helpful, informative, and inspirational.

I also deliver workshops and training seminars to promote access to healthcare for trans people. Often, I barely manage to cover my own travel costs. Sometimes, I even conduct these at a loss, because I believe in the cause.

I do what I do because I believe in trying to create a better world, one that's safer and more accepting for trans people, and LGBTQIA people in general.
