Jamie will be having surgery to remove cancer on his thyroid on Thursday August 21ST in St Louis at Washington University which is part of Barnes Jewish. He will have his thyroid removed as well as some of his wind pipe and possibly repair to his vocal chords. Yes, it is the first day of school for Joey and Hannah starting 5Th and 7th grade which had added even more stress on the family. The kids are wanting to be with their dad after surgery but we have decided to have them attend first day of school and take them up that evening. He will probably be in the hopital about a week. They will have to monitor his calcium level and he may have a tube for breathing while his windpipe heals. They could really use some help with out of town expenses, lost wages (as neither of them have jobs that pay for time off) and medical expenses. They have been graciously loaned a car to drive by my beautiful sister since their car does not have air conditioning and it is supposed to be 100 degrees this week.
