Well, now Dan's surgery has been postponed, just making it longer before he can return to work..It just seems to be longer and longer before he can start generating an income...He and his family are extremely grateful for donations made, and yet to be made
Dan Routhier has been battling health problems for the past few years, and because of this, is in the midst of a financial crisis. It started when he had an infection in his foot, that caused the amputation of two toes. He had to recover from this for a couple months, only to find out that the incision from the surgery had become infected and he would need a follow up surgery. He then had a debriedment on the wound, a procedure in which doctors make another incision, and scrape out the infected parts of the bone. Once this was done, Dan had to do Hyperbaric treatment three hours every day for approximately three months. Even after this was done, there was still infection in the bone, so another debriedment was done. While Dan was in the hospital recovering from that surgery, it was found that he had a tumor and that he would need another surgery to remove it. After pathology reports were done, it was found to be Testicular cancer. Dan than had to under go four rounds of intensive Chemotherapy. He had to do a whole week of Chemo, than had two weeks off, four times. When he was done, he thought that the cancer was gone,. but after a follow up catscan, they found that the cancer had spread and that several tumors were in his abdomen. Now, he is scheduled to have a Retroperitoneal lymph node dissection. An incision is made from the sternum to the pelvic bone and they remove the tumors along with as many lymph nodes as they can find. He will have another month or two recovery time. If, during the follow up catscan he has a few weeks after recovering, they find any anomalies, he will require another several rounds of Chemotherapy. Since he has been dealing with so many health issues, he has ran up a lot of medical bills and needs our help. Anything that you can give will be gratefully appreciated by Dan and his family. We all love him so let's show him just how much!!! UPDATE: Dan's surgery has been postponed and now he has to have a consult with a new Oncologist at Roswell Cancer Institute. He isn't sure why the sudden change in treatment, but a second opinion can't hurt. The only problem is,it's just making things take longer before he can get back to work and get back to his life, so again, He is grateful for all our well wishes, and prayers, and appreciates anything you can or already have donated!!!
