Our Boy Trooper is a beloved member of our community, he is the perfect combination of show dog, and adored family pet, he was recently diagnosed with Osteosarcoma, and is currently in Fort Collins Colorado at a specialized vet clinic for radiation.
~per Cindy, his "mom'~ Trooper's cancer is in his lower left front leg. The PET scan showed that it is a sizeable tumor...not itsy bitsy like we prayed. BUT no other cancer was detected anywhere in his body. The SRT will direct radiation at that tumor and destroy it. Of course that leg will be weaker when all is said and done. THe chemo is to kill cancer cells that are no doubt in his body already. I have been told that dogs tolerate chemo much better than people. He will have 3 days of SRT radiation here in Colorado. That will detroy the tumor. Then his radiation will be every 3 weeks, for a total of 6 sessions. We may have one treatment here, and the others at home in Reno or Sacramento. Not so bad really.
Several of us want to DO something to help, whilst insurance covers some of Troopers treatments, I know that it doesn't cover this treatment in Colorado... so we are going to start a chip in, to help Our Boy... if you are able to, every little penny will help with his expenses.

UPDATE ~per Cindy, Thank you friends for all your prayers, love, healing thoughts and donations. Trooper is doing well. He will have his second chemo treatment this Friday. So far he has come through everything like the TROOPER he is. We just keep believing.
