Greetings All, My name is Lincoln, I am an owner surrender 6 yrs old. My Family Loved me very much. They could no longer afford my care. I ask please as a Rescue we are not here to judge owners who need to surrender their dogs No matter what type of shape they are in. People do need help, people sometimes fall on hard times. As a Rescue we understand and that is what we are here for to Help those in need such as Lincoln. Lincoln went to the North Houston Veterinary Specialists to get a diagnosis on his ears. For Dogs that have a more severe infections require a more involved surgery called a Total Ear Canal Ablation and Bulla Osteotomy . Preoperative radiographs of the skull are generally recommended to assess changes that have taken place in the bony portion of the ear. The infected tissue and entire ear canal are removed. The bony portion of the ear (bulla) is opened to remove all of the infectious tissue from around the hearing apparatus. Bacterial cultures are obtained so that the infection may be treated with the appropriate antibiotics. On occasion, biopsies may be indicated to identify abnormal tissue in the ear. Drains are placed to encourage healthy tissue growth without abscess pocket formation. The surgery is usually successful in alleviating the painful, debilitating chronic ear infections, as they cannot recur once the ear canal has been removed. Fortunately, hearing loss, which is directly related to the severity of the infection within the middle ear, is not always associated with this surgery. Dogs frequently retain some degree of hearing capacity, even without ear canals, and are much more comfortable. EBRN is asking if you could Please Help Lincoln raise $3,000 so he can get his ears taken care of and have a pain free life. Lincoln is the sweetest dog Ever and he deserves a chance. For the first 15 highest Donations received you will get a gift from Lincoln. No Donation is ever too small. We will continue to take picts and give updates on his progress. He is scheduled for surgery on Nov 7th Please feel free to share with your Pals and get the word out so Lincoln can have his surgery. Thank You All EBRN
