César Paradisi hasn't added a story.

Hola, me llamo César.

Hi, my name is César. This is my mom, Lizbeth, and we’re running this campaign because I need help to provide her with the treatment she needs to recover.

What Happened

Three months ago, Lizbeth suffered a stroke. A stroke occurs when blood flow to the brain is interrupted. It can cause permanent damage in a matter of minutes, and what happens afterward depends directly on how quickly and consistently she receives treatment. That day, my mom’s life—and mine—changed completely.

How She’s Doing Today

Three months later, Lizbeth still lives with the consequences of the stroke every day:

The right side of her body is partially paralyzed. Her right foot doesn’t respond well when she walks, causing her to lose her balance and putting her at risk of falling. Her left arm shakes involuntarily—a movement she cannot control or stop on her own. In addition, she has stiffness in her arm that makes normal movement difficult. She has also lost control of her posture; she leans to one side whether sitting or standing and cannot correct it on her own, which constantly puts her at risk of falling. Since the stroke, she has also been afraid to walk, even with assistance.

None of these issues will improve on their own. All require active, consistent treatment guided by professionals.

Why This Is Urgent

Doctors are clear on one important point: the first few months after a stroke are the most critical for recovery. This is the period when the brain has the greatest capacity to regain lost functions. If treatment is interrupted or delayed due to a lack of resources, a window of opportunity for recovery is lost—and it never returns. That’s why this campaign can’t wait.

The treatment she needs

Intensive physical rehabilitation (neurological kinesiology) and occupational therapy, every day, with specific balance and postural control exercises so she stops leaning to one side, and so her body doesn’t permanently lose the mobility she can still regain. Without this consistent treatment, there is a risk that the partial paralysis on her right side will become permanent. A custom-made foot orthosis, so she can walk with greater stability and a lower risk of falls. Evaluation and follow-up with a physiatrist and neurologist to treat the stiffness and involuntary tremor in her arm, identify the exact cause of her loss of balance, and monitor her neurological progress. Psychological support to help her overcome the fear of walking that she has had since her stroke. Ongoing medication and routine medical checkups to sustain her recovery and prevent a second stroke.

This treatment is neither optional nor something that can be postponed. It is what my mom needs to walk safely again, regain the use of her arm, and regain her independence.

Who I Am and Why I’m Asking for Help

I am her only son. I have no other close family members with whom to share this responsibility. We live in Argentina, and the cost of this treatment exceeds what I can cover on my own.

It’s not easy to ask for help this way. But my mom needs this treatment now—not when I manage to save up the money little by little. That’s why I decided to launch this campaign.

How the Money Raised Will Be Used

The goal of this campaign is to raise USD 15,000. This money will be used exclusively for:

  • Intensive physical rehabilitation (neurological kinesiology) and occupational therapy
  • A custom-made foot orthosis
  • Consultations and follow-ups with a physiatrist and neurologist
  • Psychological support sessions
  • Medication and routine medical checkups

I’ll post regular updates on her progress and on how each donation is being used, so that everyone who contributes can see the impact of their support.

How You Can Help

Any donation helps, no matter the amount. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this campaign with your family and friends is also a great way to help—often, this goes further than you might imagine.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading this far, and thank you for any support you can give my mom and me during this difficult time.

With love, César.
