Hello, my name is Adrián. I am a Costa Rican opera singer, writer, and student living with Tourette’s syndrome, OCD, and Dissociative Identity Disorder. I receive a disability pension of less than $400 a month, which is not enough to cover my living costs, medical needs, and the educational goals that give me purpose and hope.

Despite my neurological and mental health conditions, I am still dreaming big.
Music, writing, and studying have become essential parts of my emotional stability and my path toward building a meaningful future.

⭐ Why I Need Your Help

I am raising funds to continue my artistic, academic, and personal development in several areas that are deeply important for my well-being and independence.

🎵 1. Continue my classical/operatic singing studies.

I am studying lyrical singing at a local university. This program costs ₡58,000 colones per month (~$110 USD).
Opera has been life-changing for me, both artistically and therapeutically.

🎹 2. Begin formal piano lessons and start my path as a classical composer. (hopefully, an opera composer) 

Becoming a composer has been a dream for years. Piano lessons are essential, but they cost
₡45,000 colones per month (~$86 USD), which I cannot afford on my disability income.

🎧 3. Purchase recording equipment.

I need a microphone, audio interface, headphones, and accessories to record my singing progress and opera repertoire. The estimated cost is about $400 USD.

📚 4. Support my writing career.

I am about to finish and publish my first book -and probably the most significant one- and I have the ideas and structures for 3 not book.

💻 5. Pay the remaining debt for my Full Stack Developer program.

This training will one day allow me to work remotely as a freelancer and supplement my low disability pension. My goal is to become financially independent despite my limitations. Working from home without a schedule with my own rhythm will help me avoid mental crisis.

⛑️ 6. Complete my Paramedic degree.

Although my health will not allow me to professionally work in the paramedic field, I deeply wish to finish the degree.

Why?
Because completing my studies would give me dignity, closure, and a sense of achievement after years of effort.

The final requirements include:

Supervised practice: ₡550,000 colones (~$1,050 USD)

Graduation fees: ₡150,000 colones (~$285 USD)

Even if I cannot work full-time due to my disabilities, I hope to volunteer once or twice a month at the Costa Rican Red Cross.
Helping others with my medical knowledge is one of my greatest personal dreams and a way to contribute to society.
