HI!! we are fundraising for Princess Żeli dog is our beloved 12-year-old Yorkie-Pom. 

Johnny rescued her via Sophie's Dog Adoption almost 11 years ago- She is our dearest pal. You might know her to give you a lot of attitude or just sit on your lap in an entitled way. We are all each other's emotional support --  she's a pal and a confidante.

Johnny and I, (Johnny Forever Nawracaj and Lisa Gambletron Gamble) are both artists living on a limited income from contract labour- we've had a particularly hard year financially as we had to limit our work hours due to my father's double lung transplant, long-term hospitalization and then his death.  

At the beginning of May, shortly after my father passed away in March, Żeli started needing A LOT of medical support. It turns out she was suffering from level 1-2 heart failure and a collapsing trachea. She may also have a blood clotting issue, which the vet is still in the process of determining.

She is retaining fluid in her belly and still not quite 100%  BUT now she is doing A LOT better. Happy to say she's got PEP IN HER STEP, peeing on poop and barking at joggers and children once again. 

After 9 vet visits, way too many x-rays, ultrasounds tests, etc. etc., we find ourselves adding up the total to

$5650.63

We are maxed out and Żeli will need medication and follow-ups from here on in.  We do not regret spending this money. Her quality of life is still fantastic and we hope to keep it that way for the years she has left due to her new regimen of meds.

She is able to conduct all her important neighbourhood dog business once again- answering her pee-mail on the regular. She is acting like her old self. These vet visits have been life-saving.

She is not struggling enough for us to consider end-of-life care at this stage...and things have been getting progressively better. Please help us continue to provide her with the medical support she deserves. 

This birthday fundraiser is my wish to re-coop some of the lost money particularly because I know we are gonna have to spend more.
