Since my beautiful son's arrival on December 4, 2022, he has been a precious blessing and an incredible addition to my life. However, the constant fear of not being able to provide him with a stable home has consumed me with stress and fear. I never imagined that my journey through pregnancy and raising him would be overshadowed by the constant struggle to keep a roof over our heads.

Now, six months later, I find myself feeling completely stuck and overwhelmed, grappling with the heavy weight of potential eviction. As a single mother with limited resources, I've reached out to local social services and explored every avenue for financial assistance and housing vouchers. Sadly, I've encountered numerous roadblocks, with many organizations closing down or exhausting their funds due to the ongoing challenges posed by COVID-19. It's disheartening to be told that there are no further resources available or advice to offer, leaving me uncertain about our future and where to turn for permanent shelter.

Being a single parent without transportation, income, or a strong support network has taken a toll on my mental and physical well-being. On top of these challenges, my son has faced health issues, requiring frequent doctor visits and even a week-long stay at the children's hospital. While things are improving, the stress and concern persist. I am determined to find solutions and provide the best possible care for my son, but I also find myself torn between dedicating time to his development and the demanding task of securing our basic needs.

Managing my time effectively has become a daily struggle. From searching for work-from-home opportunities and catching up on rent to nurturing my son's growth and maintaining our living space, every hour slips away too quickly. Amidst all this, I haven't been able to give my beloved companion, Sugar, the attention she deserves. She has been my rock throughout these challenging times, and I want nothing more than to provide her with stability and a stress-free life.

Our current home, while not the most lavish or in the safest area, is our sanctuary. Losing it would be devastating, and my greatest fear is that my inability to provide a stable living situation could result in my son being taken from me. I refuse to accept such a fate for my little family. That's why I'm reaching out, despite feeling uncomfortable asking for help, because the potential consequences are far more unbearable.

I believe in the strength I've developed through past hardships, but at this point, I find myself at a dead-end road, desperately seeking a way out. Time is of the essence, as I have already faced eviction court proceedings and await the official writ of eviction. To prevent this outcome, I must pay the entire past due balance, lawyer fees, late charges, and current rent at least two days before the date listed on the writ that is served (usually 3-7 days). I understand it's a daunting amount to ask for, but I firmly believe that miracles can happen, and with the support of kind-hearted individuals, we can secure our home. Our home, and our happy place.
