Equitarian Initiative has provided horse care and management classes in Manderson, SD for several years (minus COVID-19) Each year, we strive to send at least one new horse family along with those who have taken the beginning classes to continue to increase our knowledge.  These classes are important because where we live, veterinary care is most often out of reach both geographically, and financially. The more we can do to provide care ourselves, helps us to keep veterinary costs down. This means we have greater financial flexibility when it comes to more serious injuries and illness, as well as providing better nutrition for the horses.

This year, we are sending 2 families, one first year, and one experienced to the "Doctorin' Your Horse" class in Manderson, SD, Ocober 8-9, 2022. We estimate our expenses as follows: lodging: $500 (3 rooms for 2 nights @ $75/night); gas: $300 ($100/vehicle for 3 vehicles) meals: $300 ($100/day for travel, breakfast & dinner, with lunch provided during class, for 3 days for 9-10 people) for an estimated total of $1100. 

For donors (any donation level) we will keep you updated with photos and videos of our progress both with the classes, and hands on use of our new skills with the horses. For sponsors, (donatio s of $100 or more) we can add your digital logo to photos & videos of our updates.
