My name is Andre Thompson, I'm 33 years old and the last 12 years of my life have been spent in prison for crimes that I did not and could not have committed. The crimes they convicted me of, are one count of aggravated murder, and two counts of attempted murder, two counts of aggravated robbery. Due to injustice of Cuyahoga County's judicial system (Cleveland,OH) I was tried and convicted solely due to lies. I am 6"3 215lbs brown complexion and at the time of my arrest my hair was styled in cornrows. The description of the shooter was 5"7 to 5"9 175lbs and light skin with a low haircut. Furthermore the victims and witnesses stated he wore a mask.
My childhood friend, his sister and two god sisters along with their two younger cousins were the prosecutors sole eyewitnesses used to convict me of capital murder. He coerced these people against me with the fear tactic of my childhood friend being charged with the same crimes as I was. That is prosecutorial misconduct and coercion. To convince multiple innocent bystanders to make false statements against an innocent man for the sake of a conviction is egregious in itself.
This battle is not easy, and neither is the many different challenges I listed above. Being alone makes it that much harder. I know with help from potential supporters my plight can be lessened. I as that anyone who cares about yet another injustice inflicted upon an innocent man, please read this with an open heart and mind. I leave you with this thought in mind, it has been proven overwhelmingly that innocent people reside in America's prison's, I only ask that you read my story and then make the determination on whether I am worthy of your support.
