Hello family and friends!
I would like to share some special news with you! Emmanuel has been selected to represent Vancouver at the 7th annual FC Barcelona International Tournament in Spain this coming March. He is a very committed soccer player and attends all practices and games, rain or shine. He is loyal to his teammates and always positive and encouraging on the field. He has been selected to be Captain of his team on multiple occasions due to his kindness and encouraging attitude.
As such, we thought it would be an amazing opportunity for him to attend this tournament for his development as well as a reward for his commitment and drive.
Emmanuel, between his two soccer clubs, trains 5 days a week with no complaints! Since they practice on Turf with FCB, practices are never cancelled... When I Say Never, I mean never! They play and practice through rain, snow and anything else Mother Nature sends our way!
Emmanuel is honored to be one of 12 kids invited from his age group (U10 high-performance team). There will be 21 countries, 1500 kids participating from around the world. The tournament will take place in Barcelona and Emmanuel is thrilled to play in the same stadiums as some of his idols especially Andres Iniesta. He's super excited to also meet kids his own age from around the world.
We want to teach Emmanuel the value behind this tournament by having him engaged in the process. He will be shoveling snow for neighbors, having lemonade stands, donating unused toys to Consignment and anything else that will help fundraise for this trip. He is also asking for donations from friends and family in order to help raise the money for the tournament fee. In return he will deliver a handmade thank-you card and bracelet as a heartfelt thank you.
