Tommie Telfair, is a father, a brother, a son, a grandson and supporter to many more. Throughout his life, he has selflessly provided support to many; including his children, his siblings, and any relative or friend who has needed it. In 2007, he was accused of a crime that he simply did not commit. To those who know him, this complaint and accusation comes as a complete shock. Because of the method in which took place and with no representation or opportunity for defense fot the accused- the court convicted Tommie and sentenced him to almost 20 years in federal prison. The family cannot produce all the money required for a proper appellate defense team against this disgustingly false conviction. Especially when a lot of money has been spent on filings, representation, etc, throughout the last 10 years. But that doesn't void the need for a defense, which can and will likely exceed $40,000. As his immediate family, we can only do so much to help him. A large component of this process is entirely out of our hands and we can't help but feel victimized by a system that is quick to claim "innocent until proven guilty" but acts entirely in the opposite, entirely with no evidence and no proof. Our family members and the children have primarily been dependent on Tommie, as well as his mother and grandmother depend on him as well. I'm not sure what could happen if we can't raise the funds required for his defense. As such, I'm turning to the kindness of family, friends, supporters and strangers. While I know that there are many other charitable groups or missions that we all can support, I would ask that you give this one special attention. Message from the wrongfully convicted (Tommie Telfair): I been fighting for 10 years this injustice on drug charges I never committed. They lied, falsified documents, withheld evidence, fabricated evidence, and it still came out at trial that i didn't have anything to do wit the drugs nor the conspiracy. But rather then them letting me go they kept trying to force me to take a contract-plea-offer thru my entire ordeal. They arrested one off my kids mother trying to force me to become a snitch when I refused they charged her wit crimes that she never committed. Now I been fighting and [all] the corruption have been coming to the light they are still stalling and trying to cover-up what they did. I been waiting to go back to court since 2015; my case been on appeal since 2013. They just recently went to the judge trying to get her to allow them not to turn over the discovery related material which prove that, not only did they violate my constitutional right, but they didn't even follow there own policies not procedures thru my entire case. What that means is that for the crux of my case on paper its won but the Government is trying to figure a way out, or a way around my appeal, which unless the judge is going to break the law is impossible! if u, or any body want to spread the story help in the fight just hit me up, or write me here at FCI FORT DIX NJ!!!!!
