Hello,

We are the VanDusens. My name is Joshua VanDusen and I am a senior at the University of Valley Forge for pastoral ministry. I am to become a pastor when I graduate. My wife Rachel is a early childhood teacher at the YMCA.  I am a Teen Challenge graduate of 2013 where there I was delivered of a 10 year drug addiction. I am currently almost 5 years sober and following Jesus. My wife Rachel has grown up a Christian her whole life. She gave her life to Jesus at five years old. She loves kids and has aspired her whole life to become a teacher. We met at college, fell in love, and God brought us together forever on August 13th, 2016.

 We have been presented with the opportunity to continue our journey with God by going to Haiti for ten days in March as a UVF sponsored mission's trip. This country had been near to our hearts as it was hit with a earthquake in 2010 where 100,000 people died and cities destroyed. Again, recently, this year Hurricane Matthew hit, destroying 400 homes, killing people, livestock, and any rebuilding done from 2010. Haiti is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere. Fresh water and food are scarce. Children are on the streets wondering when their next meal will be.    

After prayerfully considering this, Rachel and I decided to go and help a nation that has been forgotten by most. We personally want to go make a difference. We want to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with Haitians as well as help them rebuild. In our time there we will:

-Be working with and teaching children there

-Helping with Vacation Bible School activities

-Caring for some of the displaced children

-Building a crisis center/hospital that will give the local Haitians medical care.

-Joining Haitians hand in hand helping rebuild their community

Our goal is to leave something to positively impact the Haitian community for years to come. 

My wife and I both work hard to try and pay both of our college bills. We are in desperate need of your help to pursue the call of God. The money you donate would go to our travel expenses and materials needed to perform all duties in Haiti. We need 3,600 dollars total. In particular, we have a deadline of 1,200 dollars due by November 12th. You are not giving to us, but to Haiti, and even more so the Kingdom of God.

If you feel lead to give, please do so cheerfully. If you cannot, please pray that God would provide and that our trip would bless the people of Haiti. We do this because of the salvation given to us by Jesus Christ, and look spread His love wherever. We do not seek fame or fortune, but to glorify God in all we do.
